Syntax Highlighter for Drupal

There is a rather cool little library that I think should be more widely used: The Syntax Highlighter from Alex Gorbatchev. ( https://github.com/alexgorbatchev/SyntaxHighlighter )

It helps when you want to include little snippets of code, xml, html, php, java, shell, whatever in your web pages. There is a separate Drupal module ( http://drupal.org/project/syntaxhighlighter ) which makes it very easy to use.

Here is an example from their demo page...It is an example of an html page.

reCaptcha for Drupal - protection against spam users

I recently launched several Drupal based websites where people could register - but not get access until someone authorised them. Sadly this resulted in several spam users a day

[EDIT: This blog entry is out of date: It looks like reCaptcha might have been cracked so I will be using different CAPTCHA technologies rather than reCaptcha. eg

Drupal: Content Management without the Fuss

Whenever we need a website we ask ourselves whether the task can be achieved with the Content Management System called Drupal. We have found that for very high proportion of problems Drupal solves the need for a website without resorting to writing new code. It is a mature system which works well across scales of single user - to national newspaper.

If you need a website which builds a user community then contact us.

We would be particularly interested to hear if you want to deploy Drupal to a public cloud such as Amazon's EC2.

Favourite Drupal Tools:Drush

The first thing I should mention is that I try to use "drush" nowadays to install my Drupal modules. It lets me install modules from the command line - which frankly is easiest for me.

eg

Project tagadelic_views (6.x-1.2) downloaded to /var/www/fake_owal/sites/all/modules/tagadelic_views. [success]
